Smart door lock service

In a smart home, smart locks allow a homeowner to enter their home or provide others access without requiring a traditional key. Instead, the user uses their smartphone or a key fob to wirelessly verify and mechanically unlock the door. Smart locks are an extension of home automation into home security.

Do smart door locks work without Wi-Fi?

Non-WiFi-enabled Smart Locks

Non-WiFi-enabled locks usually incorporate the Bluetooth protocol. This helps connect the lock to your smartphone, allowing both devices to communicate with each other. Its features, functions and performance aren’t affected by an Internet connection.
The main components of a smart lock include the physical lock, the key (which can be electronic, digitally encrypted, or a virtual key to provide keyless entry), a secure Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection, and a management mobile app.
The smart lock itself, being an electronic device, requires a power supply in the form of a battery. So your lock will include a small, hidden battery compartment.

Are smart locks hackable? Any technology that connects to the internet has the potential to be hacked. However, smart locks that work with a traditional locking mechanism, that can only be physically opened with a key, offer the best resistance against hackers.
