Door Access Control

What is a door access control system? Door access control systems are digital security systems that ensure authorized access to your building. They ensure only authorized personnel are entering your building while keeping unauthorized personnel out.

Access Control systems provide protection and help reduce crime by restricting unauthorised access to a building, room or site, whilst protecting staff from potential threats including abuse and harassment.

The access control system is an electronic system which utilises electronic keys (the tags) to release door locks. The tag, which can be carried by the user on their key ring, is presented in the Proximity of a reader, located adjacent to a door and communicates with that reader utilising encoded radio waves.

Examples include; Proximity readers, Key switch, Digital Keypads, and biometric readers (fingerprints). These devices are mounted on the exterior (secured side) either on the casing of the door (mullion mount) or on the wall near the door (gang mount).
